The first project, we are asked to provide a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for sport, social and cultural activities. As relatively "neutral boxes' the spaces have the potential to support activities and events other than their principle sporting functions. For example, they could be hired for parties and functions, used to stage dance performance or used for public meetings. The building type and its primary use are simple enough to allow you to engage with the complexities of form, structure, fabric, material and the environmental systems and qualities associated with human comfort (lighting, acoustic, thermal, ventilation) in a truly integrated manner.
